Here’s a general overview of our hiring seasons

🌾 Thinning (Mid-Oct - Mid-Dec)

Help prepare the trees by thinning stonefruit. This is hands-on, detailed work and a great intro to orchard life.

🍒 Cherry Picking (Dec - Late Jan)

Our first picking season. Fast hands and careful work are essential to keep our cherries looking their best.

🌿 Packhouse Work (Dec - Mid-Feb)

Pack cherries for our shop and stonefruit for the market. The packhouse ramps up right after New Year.

🍑 Stonefruit Picking (Jan - Late March)

Apricots lead the way, followed by peaches, plums, and nectarines. It’s steady, warm work through February.

🌺 Distillery Assistants (Intermittent)

We pulp, press, and juice fruit - early morning shifts with large equipment. Forklift experience a bonus!

🍎 Apple Picking (Easter - ANZAC)

A short harvest, mostly covered by our core team, but sometimes we need a hand.

Fruit Shop Team

Our roadside fruit shop is summer central - buzzing with customers, more fruit than you can count, real fruit ice creams, barista coffee, and lots of fruity chat.

We’re building a strong team for the summer to keep things running smoothly. If you're confident with customers, enjoy variety, jumping from task to task, and work well under pressure, we'd love to hear from you.

👩🌾 Shop Supervisor (Mid-Nov - Mar/Apr)

Oversee day-to-day shop operations, help train new staff, manage stock, and deliver top-notch customer service. Starting mid-Nov gives you time to settle in before peak season hits.

🧳 Fruit Shop Assistants (Dec - Feb/Mar)

We hire 8-10 assistants to cover summer. Full-time and part-time roles available. Tasks include:

Packing quality fruit directly from picking bin to customer
Serving customers
Making ice creams, smoothies & coffee
Stocking shelves & handling produce
Packing orders & using the till
Keeping everything clean and food-safe

A few team members continue into March to help wrap up the season.

Have a good level of fitness and can work on their feet
Are punctual, responsible, and able to follow instructions
Bring a positive attitude, whether it’s in the shop, orchard, packhouse or distillery
Value working as part of a friendly and supportive team
